Young Adult Wilderness Retreat, Emigrant Wilderness, CA (July 11-20, 2014)
Spending time in the wilderness naturally deepens a sense of interconnectedness; when we add meditation, mindful hiking and other contemplation practices we create an even more powerful experience of our place here as a part of the whole. During this wilderness retreat we will spend the mornings practicing mindfulness meditation and then in the afternoons explore the beautiful wilderness area around us, doing primitive skills like fire building and awareness activities (like animal tracking) to better appreciate the natural world.
The retreat begins at a center near Emigrant Wilderness and then we head into the back country for 7 days to immerse ourselves in the natural world. We will be hiking daily. This retreat is perfect for young adults who want to appreciate the natural world in a way they never have before—with a quiet mind and open heart.
This retreat is offered through Inward Bound Mindfulness Education (iBme) and UCLA.
